Walter Carder a soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice in WW1

Walter Carder was a professional soldier and served in the 2nd Boer War.  He was then a reservist and, in WW1, enlisted in the 11th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment in which he served as a Sergeant.  On 13 September 1917 he was killed by a German shell in a front line trench.  These artefacts are owned by his granddaughter Jean Rayner (nee Carder).  See also B488.
